For a frameless pack this carries weight quite well. The hip strap does an adequate job of keeping the pack on the hips and minimizes shoulder strain. I haven't tested it for waterproofness, but considering it's construction I'm not worried. The pack closes like a dry bag and the top can be clipped together or you can roll the top and clip to straps on the side of the pack. The pack weighs about a kilogram which is excellent considering the strength of the material. The front pocket is a little hard to use, Don't load it up with bulky items, I'm going to use it for first aid gear.
There are two things that would make the pack perfect. The first is a useable water bottle pouch that can be accessed with the pack on. The side pockets are elastic and hold quite a bit and there is a compression strap that goes around them, but they are not accessible while wearing the pack. Consider buying a pouch that clips to the shoulder or hip strap. The second thing is small pouches (or even just one pouch) on the hip strap for snacks. Not a big deal, consider adding a thigh pouch or fanny pack. One thing that makes up for most of the downsides in the price. This pack is excellent value.

Best yet
I live & work in Caribbean, and drag my overloaded bag around daily, on and off boats, under the fiercest UV you can imagine. My previous two 30L Aquaquest (red/grey now called the Spindrift) lasted over 2 years each, getting utterly hammered, with the last one still going. This 45L has everything the 30L does and more - better pockets, access, fasten-down, and can compact down to the same size or stretch to carry a serious amount of kit. Very tough, durable. My only improvement might be to rubberise/coat the bases to give a little extra scuff protection (boat decks are usually painted with an abrasive grip layer).
Also very comfortable on a bike or motorcycle, as I use it for Enduro riding as well. Hope they keep making this model for years to come. Love the solid blue too.

I purchased this bag mainly for cycling.
I purchased this bag mainly for cycling. Yesterday I was caught in a severe thunderstorm. Everything on me was wet. I pulled out the contents of this bag and everything was bone dry including laptop, ipad, and phone. I took away a star because I found the hip straps annoying while cycling. I eventually cut them off but I wish there was a way to just tuck them in a pocket like I've seen in other backpacks.

dry or not, simply the best travel bag out there.
this woudl be my 5th bag from aquaquest, the first one from back in 2015 and all still going strong. Fantastic construction, the ripstop fabric is real- but the real thing that keeps it from coming apart are the seams. Have had many other drybags with amazing ripstop, waterproofness in the material, but the one thing that ALWAYS fails them is the seam. Some are either glued together, hot sealed, or poorly sewn. But these bags have been with me through beaches of greece and hawaii for summer vacations to snow in NY and Japan for work. I carry everything from clothes and shoes, to 12x19 portfolios of art ( usually 4-5 at a time) and heavy marketing materials and hardcover books. My 13 year old son uses the 25L model for his Jr Lifeguard trips. The material is as rips resistant on the inside as it is on the outside. The simple roll top and buckle feature keeps you form having zipper issues. A simple rule of all design is less is more, the less moving parts and features involved, the less likely it will fail. These bags are just that- simple design, quality materials. This one has an added improvement over the original 30L version with an inside slip that pulls out for easy cleaning and emptying. Also the added inside pocket is a plus! I like simple, but when its on the inside, really appreciate that extra space for organizing the smaller things from falling to the bottom. love it.
