The stealthy Hideaway rides low to the ground and light in your pack. While compact, it is feature-rich with a TPU window, mesh inner door, and vented headspace. A rapid set-up time and small footprint means that this shelter beats most single-person tents for ease and range of use. Pitches using a single shock-cord pole and 5 stakes; stuff sack included.

WATERPROOF
With a waterproof rating of 10,000 mm, the Hideaway can repel 5-times more hydrostatic pressure than the average tent fly.

COMPACT
The efficient single-wall design and limited hardware permits the Hideaway to compress into a highly portable package.

EASY SET-UP
Site selection is simple due to the Hideaway's small footprint. It can be fully prepped to receive the weary adventurer after 2 minutes of straightforward set-up.

I purchased this item to be my shelter

I purchased this item to be my shelter for my thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. As for the many shelters i had to choose from I selected this one because of it's light weight, compact storage, ease of set up and it's excellent waterproofing ability.

This bivy is just what I was looking for. It's ...

This bivy is just what I was looking for. It's much roomier inside than the average bivy. At 5'2", I can comfortably stash my pack in the foot box- keeping the rest of my gear safe from the elements and lifting the fabric off my legs for greater comfort. There is also plenty of room to read, roll over, and, with a bit of twisting, give myself a sponge bath and change clothes. While not technically freestanding, I've set this up on granite (without stakes) and found the pole stayed in place enough to continue to lift the fabric off my face. As with any bivy, ventilation is a challenge. Although there is a small mesh panel behind one's head, this seems to provide almost no protection from condensation if the bivy is otherwise zipped up. So, despite Aqua Quest's promoting this item's waterproofness, I'd be reluctant to use it in a heavy rain unless I brought a small tarp I could set up overhead so I could leave the bivy partially unzipped. Still- this bivy serves the purpose I bought it for- a shelter with a very small footprint that could be set up quickly on just about any surface in less than two minutes. Great for those minimalist trips where you plan on spending most of your day on the trail, not in camp.

I bought the green color version. Simple set up. Light weight. Packs into two small stuff sacks. This is a Bivy and not a tent. There is comfortable space available for one inside the enclosure. Two people would make for very cramped quarters. I bought it for an emergency snow bank kit inside of my van. If tied at the foot and head the Single hoop will stand upright with no further tie outs.
